The Handi Book is in Production!

We recently launched pre-sales for The Handi Book of Love, Lust and Disability.  The book features 50 disabled people from around the world who have bared it all on topics of sex, sexuality, dating and disability. They dig deep on previously unearthed topics like body image, pain & pleasure, grief & loss, sex work and the sexiest thing anyone’s ever said to you about your disability, and that’s just the tip…of the iceberg

The answers are sometimes funny, sometimes filthy, sometimes painful, sometimes beautiful, sometimes raw and, often, everything at once and all will give you a previously unseen perspective into the world of love, lust and disability.  You will undoubtedly walk away with a greater sense of connectedness, empathy and understanding whether you live with a disability or not. This is a book for everyone.

We’ve had an incredible response so far from both the disabled and temporarily able-bodied (TAB) communities.

Handi Chief Disability Officer, co-founder and activist, Andrew Gurza has Cerebral Palsy.

“I have spent years educating people about my experiences of being disabled and gay. What life is like to be confined to a wheelchair but still conscious about body image. How it feels to be ignored when it comes to basic rights such as sex and intimacy. I’m incredibly open about my sex life because it encourages those in the community to confront how they really feel and what they truly desire. The Handi Book is an extension of that."

Cindy Gallop, SexTech influencer, diversity and inclusivity advocate and CEO & Founder MakeLoveNotPorn

"I was already blown away by what Heather Morrison and Andrew Gurza are building at Handi - the first sex toys by and for disabled people - and now I'm blown away by The Handi Book Of Love, Lust And Disability. These incredible, searingly honest and profoundly moving stories from 50 disabled people are not only a wonderful guide for anyone with a disability and the people who love, support and help them, but a must-read for everybody. Because, as with the Handi sex toys, all initiatives that embrace and facilitate full accessibility, improve and change the world for all of us.”

A recent Handi survey shows that 90% of disabled people surveyed feel they're overlooked and ignored when it comes to sexuality,  and 85% want their voices to be heard on this topic. This book is an important step towards breaking down the taboo, creating a more inclusive society and showing how freaking sexy and powerful disabled people are!

All profits from sales of The Handi Book will be ploughed into the production of the first ever sex toy for disabled people so we can make sure pleasure is within reach for everyone in the disabled community.
